The Supply chain plays a particularly important role in delivering finished products to stores, whereas retailing involves the distribution of the finished products to the consumer.

The BITC Post Graduate Diploma in Retail and Suppy Chain Management course is designed for graduates in any discipline who wish to develop knowledge and skills at the postgraduate level in the field of Supply Chain Management. The course covers a broad range of management subjects with an emphasis on the Retail and Supply Chain Industry. Learners will also have the opportunity to create their own baking products as well as gain valuable industry experience.

Strategic Planning

This module will teach students about understanding necessary skill required to devise an effective strategic business plan. They will also study Business Analysis and strategic planning options. Students will be taught on how to construct a comprehensive strategic business plan for Retail Businesses

Organisational Behaviour

This module will teach students about developing an understanding of how organisational behaviour, structure, culture, motivation, creativity and leadership impact on an organisation’s effectiveness and efficiency. Students can use this knowledge gained to understand how companies can motivate their staff towards greater effectiveness and also help them in their carer.

International Marketing

This Module will teach students about knowledge and understanding of marketing at the international level. Learners will learn how to construct effective international marketing plans for baking and Retail Service organizations.

Corporate Communication

Students on completion of this module will understand the importance of corporate communication to the achievement of corporate objectives. Students will acquire applicable skills in auditing corporate communication strategies as well as developing corporate communication strategies for retail and Supply chain Organizations.

Retail Management

On completion of this module students will have a basic understanding of retail operations. It aims to equip the students with the knowledge, skills and techniques to operate at a managerial level in retail as well as online stores. Students will learn topics such as store management, visual merchandising, retail space planning and IT application tools. They will also be able to deploy techniques to make the merchandising more appealing.

Electronic Commerce

This modules provides the students with a basic understanding of electronic commerce and electronic marketing. Students will get to know the importance of Social media marketing and will acquire knowledge and practical skills in operating popular social media marketing tools such as Facebook, YouTube, twitter and Instagram. Moreover they will also be able to develop E marketing strategis to manage their businesses.

Supply Chain Management

This module focusses and teaches the students about the Basics of Supply Chain management. Students will learn how to develop strategies for areas such as procurement, strategic alliance, distribution, supply chain integration and information technology. Students will have an opportunity to examine the SCM challenges faced by baking and the food Service Industry.

Logistics Management

This module teaches the students the definition of logistics and its basics. It aims to provide the students with the knowledge and skills to operate basic logistical functions in purchasing, inventory, warehousing, transportation and packaging. Students will also be able to address logistical problems faced by baking and food service operators.

Industry Attachment

Learners will get to apply the knowledge and skills which they have gained in the classroom in a real work setting. Learners will be deployed to Retail and Supply chain management positions for a period of 6 months. Industrial Attachment is a compulsory and integral part of the course. Should a learner be unable to complete the Industrial Attachment due to circumstances beyond the control of the college, the learner will be required to complete a Project Work instead.

12 months comprising of 6 months class based study & 6 months internship

Students will be assessed by a variety of assignments and examinations

Students who have successfully completed the course by passing every module will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Retail and Supply Chain Management by Baking industry Training College.
