The Baking Industry and Training College (BITC) aspires to be the regional centre of excellence for the training and education of professionals in the baking industry.

BITC offers a repertoire of courses in baking, hospitality and cafe management to fulfil the diverse needs of students, school leavers, working adults, home-makers, retirees and budding entrepreneurs.

BITC started as a joint initiative between Prima Limited and the Singapore Productivity & Standards Board (PSB). Prima is a leading producer of flour products in Asia while PSB was a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The objective was to upgrade Singapore’s baking industry through quality training and continuing education. On Sep 1993, Mr. Lim Boon Heng, then Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, officially opened BITC.

BITC is an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and was awarded the coveted 4-year EduTrust certification in 2016. Through the hard work and dedication of its pool of expert instructors, BITC has built a reputation for its industry-relevant curriculum and learner-centred approach.

As of today, BITC has trained more than 10,000 learners from all walks of life, preparing them for meaningful careers in the baking industry as well as creating in them a passion for baking.

Moving ahead, BITC will expand its partnerships with quality educational and industry partners. Besides launching industry-driven innovative programmes, it will also act as a launchpad for creative and healthy baking products. It will also collaborate with forward-looking institutions to deliver its unique programmes and experience overseas.

At BITC, we endeavour to bake the difference!
