Diploma in Hospitality Management (Patisserie & Baking)

The Diploma in Hospitality Management (Patisserie & Baking) course is designed for aspiring candidates who have a passion for the hospitality industry as well as acquire proficiency in Baking and Pastry making. The course will equip students will knowledge about the hospitality industry as well as be trained in the basic art of baking breads, pastries and cakes. Candidates will then proceed towards a six months paid industrial attachment and gain valuable experience in the Hospitality Industry in Singapore.

Tourism and Hospitality Industry

This module will teach students about the Tourism Industry and Hospitality in the modern day world. It will also enlighten them about Tour Guiding, Travel Planning, sustainable tourism and M.I.C.E.

Service Marketing

This module will teach students about Basic Principles of marketing, Importance of Marketing, Marketing Mixes, Marketing Research and Analysis and E- Marketing, Specific to the hospitality Industry.

Food and beverage Operations

This module will teach students, about the practical knowledge required in the food service industry. Topics will encompass food and beverage service, table setting, Handling of Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverages.

Communication Skill

This module aims at improving the students English abilities. This includes Written , oral and listening capabilities. Furthermore this includes improving body language, spoken English, Phonetics and Hospitality English.

Principles of Pastry Making

This modules aims at developing Knowledge and skills in creating and producing a variety of pastries and breads.

Principles of Cake Making

This modules aims at developing Knowledge and skills in creating and producing a variety of cakes

Principles of Bread Making

This modules aims at developing Knowledge and skills in creating and producing a variety of breads

Internship

6 months Internship is a compulsory and integral part of the course. In Singapore internship is done under training work permit issued by Ministry of Manpower. Trainee are also paid an fixed salary per month. Should a learner be unable to complete the Industrial Attachment due to circumstances beyond the control of the college, the learner will be required to complete a project work instead.

12 months comprising of 6 months class based study & 6 months internship

Students will be assessed by a variety of assignments and examinations

Students who have successfully completed the course by passing the 6 required modules will be awarded the Diploma in Hospitality Management (Patisserie & Baking) by the Baking Industry Training College.
